Your customer. Your order. FoodPoint delivers.

FoodPoint Dispatch vs Uber Eats

Uber Eats can introduce you to marketplace shoppers. But a loyal customer’s phone or website order already belongs to your direct channel. FoodPoint Dispatch gives that order a driver request and a delivery quote, without a commission on the food sale.

$0Monthly Dispatch access
0%Direct food-order commission
5%Delivery-fee incentive

Delivery fees apply. The 5% incentive is calculated on the delivery fee, not your food sales, and is recorded separately from billing. Availability and driver acceptance apply.

Uber Eats, Uber Direct and Webshop are different products.

Uber’s US page lists Uber Eats Marketplace fees of 20% Lite, 25% Plus and 30% Premium, with plan-specific promotions and additional conditions. Uber Direct separately fulfills your own-channel orders with per-delivery pricing, advertised from $7.99 and varying by market and service. Webshop offers commission-free ordering with its own processing fee. Dispatch competes on direct fulfillment, not a claim that all Uber products have marketplace fees.

Give each sales channel a job.

Use marketplace visibility when it earns its place in your business. For orders generated by your own brand, compare a real Dispatch quote with an Uber Direct quote for the same addresses and service requirements.

A driver request, not another marketplace commission.

FoodPoint Dispatch is an on-demand delivery workflow for businesses that already have the order. Account setup and an active payment method come first. Driver availability depends on the pickup location, time and acceptance.

Your POS can stay. Your delivery model can change.

You do not need to switch to the full FoodPointOS subscription to request direct-order deliveries. Keep your existing order-taking setup and enter the delivery manually. A POS name in your profile does not imply an automated integration.

One ecosystem. Different ways to operate.

Dispatch delivers your direct orders. FoodPoint Marketplace offers a separate sales channel with its own commission terms. FoodPointOS paid plans add broader kitchen, inventory, employee and own-fleet capabilities.

Understand what you keep and what you pay

Not a cut of your food sale. An incentive on delivery.

Dispatch’s current offer allocates 5% of the quoted delivery fee to the restaurant as an incentive. It is a separate amount recorded with the delivery and weekly settlement, not an automatic reduction of the invoice or a guaranteed increase in your food margin.

Questions restaurant owners ask

Why compare Dispatch with Uber Direct as well as Uber Eats?

Uber Eats is a marketplace; Uber Direct delivers orders from your channels without marketplace commission. Ignoring Uber Direct would misrepresent the alternatives. Compare delivery quotes, coverage, service requirements and the Dispatch incentive rather than assuming Dispatch is always cheaper.

Is FoodPoint Dispatch really free?

Business account access has no monthly Dispatch subscription. Delivery itself is not free: you confirm a quote based on distance and handling before requesting a driver. An active billing method is required. Full FoodPointOS subscriptions and FoodPoint Marketplace sales are separate products with their own charges.

What does the 5% incentive apply to?

The current Dispatch offer allocates a restaurant incentive equal to 5% of the delivery fee, not 5% of the food order or total restaurant sales. A $10 delivery fee creates a $0.50 incentive. The applicable amount is recorded for the delivery and weekly settlement. It is not automatically deducted from the delivery charge; confirm payment or credit timing with FoodPoint before treating it as cash received.

Do I pay a commission on my own food orders?

For orders you receive through your own channels and submit to Dispatch for delivery, Dispatch charges the delivery quote rather than a percentage of the food sale. Your ordering system and card processing may have their own fees. Orders sold through FoodPoint Marketplace are a different channel; its current standard commission is 20%.

Can I keep Square, Toast or another POS?

You can keep your existing order-taking setup and manually request a delivery for a direct order. Selecting a POS type in Dispatch is a business reference, not a promise of an automatic POS integration. You enter the customer and delivery destination, review the quote, then request a driver.

Does one click guarantee an immediate driver?

No. Once the customer details and quote are ready, the Request driver action starts the search for an available FoodPoint driver. Assignment requires driver availability and acceptance. An unaccepted request may wait in the queue. Confirm service availability for your pickup location before offering delivery to customers.
